Gregor Becker's Solo Show 'Il Giardino di Gregor' Launches Tuscia Contemporanea Network

The solo exhibition 'Il Giardino di Gregor. Coltivare la luce' by artist Gregor Becker opens at Museo di Palazzo Doebbing in Sutri, Italy, running until October 18, 2026. Curated by Antonio Arévalo, the show features approximately thirty works created between 2015 and 2026. This is the inaugural event of Tuscia Contemporanea, a new network for contemporary art in the Tuscia region of Viterbo, founded by Benedetta Bruzziches. Becker, who has lived and worked in Soriano nel Cimino for over a decade, employs a unique technique: he paints paper, cuts it into thousands of tiles, and applies them one by one onto wooden supports. Using fragile materials like paper, pigment, and gold leaf, his surfaces capture light rather than reflect it, causing images to appear and dissolve depending on the viewer's angle. Becker's background in landscape architecture, with years designing gardens in Germany, the United States, and Australia, informs his philosophy that nature is a living space where human destiny unfolds. The exhibition program includes guided tours, a talk, a performance, and school visits, with the museum participating in the Giornata del Contemporaneo with extended hours.
