Greg Jager's hypnotic geometries color Genoa's Sopraelevata

Roman artist Greg Jager has completed 'Il tunnel del colore', a vibrant abstract mural on a pillar of Genoa's Sopraelevata highway, as part of the Repicta project. The work, sponsored by Gruppo Boero and supported by Linkinart, uses bright colors (pink, orange, yellow, turquoise) to create an optical effect visible from a specific perspective. Repicta, launched by the municipality, aims to regenerate the city through art, with four interventions planned over the coming years (one per year, except 2021 which includes two: Sampierdarena and Piccapietra). Jager's mural welcomes visitors entering from the port and highway. Linkinart, active for 15 years, previously ran Walk the Line (2015-2016), which involved 100 artists reinterpreting 100 pillars. Curator Emanuela Caronti highlighted other street art projects in Genoa, such as On The Wall (with Jager at Caffaro school) and the 2018 Certosa interventions, which helped the community move beyond the 'Ponte Morandi neighborhood' label. In 2020, the municipality commissioned Pintada by Urban Attack in Certosa, featuring artists like Okuda San Miguel, L7Matrix, Dourone, and Bosoletti.
