Greg Jager paints mural of Italian Constitution in Rome's Garbatella
A 25-meter mural depicting the first 12 articles of the Italian Constitution has been unveiled in Rome's Garbatella district. Created by artist Greg Jager on a project by Paola Manfroni and Giampiero Quaini of creative agency Marimo, with Federica Micale, the work uses 12 symbols to represent core values such as inalienable rights, labor, cultural integration, secularism, culture, research, and environmental and artistic heritage. The mural adorns an Ater building on Via Adorno Gerolamo and was inaugurated by Lazio's housing councillor Massimiliano Valeriani, alongside Municipio VIII president Amedeo Ciaccheri and Ater Roma director Andrea Napoletano. The initiative was selected by Ater for the Garbatella centenary and is part of the broader 'Lazio Street Art' project, funded by the Region with €200,000 for ten works across all five Lazio provinces. A commission of experts from Fondazione MAXXI, Fondazione La Quadriennale, and Fondazione Romaeuropa selected the projects. Valeriani stated the region sees street art as a tool for urban renewal, while Napoletano confirmed all ten centenary projects are completed or ongoing, with an electric car-sharing service launching next autumn.
