Greg Ito Solo Exhibition at ICA San José Explores Generational Care

To Give and Take, a solo exhibition featuring the work of Los Angeles artist Greg Ito, will be presented by the Institute of Contemporary Art San José. This exhibition, curated by Zoé Latzer, is set to open on September 18, 2026, and will be on view until February 21, 2027. It showcases Ito's latest paintings, sculptures, and video installations, further developing his artistic expression. Drawing inspiration from Shel Silverstein's The Giving Tree, which he first encountered in childhood and now views through the lens of parenthood, the exhibition explores evolving concepts of love, sacrifice, and responsibility across generations. Following the birth of his daughter, Ito has contemplated themes of care, loss, and renewal within familial relationships.
