Greene Naftali Launches Williamsburg Garage Space with Lutz Bacher Exhibition

exhibition · 2026-04-20

Greene Naftali, a New York gallery, will inaugurate a temporary satellite venue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn on 8 April. The space, called Greene Naftali Garage, occupies a former garage at 227 Leonard Street. Its opening exhibition features work by Lutz Bacher. This initiative contrasts with the gallery's Chelsea locations, which are traditional white-cube spaces. The Garage aims to present alternative exhibition formats and host dynamic, open programming. While numerous galleries are establishing San Francisco outposts ahead of SFMOMA's reopening, Greene Naftali has chosen to expand locally within New York City. The project was reported by ARTnews.
