Green Line Festival Returns to Florence with Winter Garden Theme

The Green Line festival returns to Florence from December 8, 2023 to January 7, 2024, with the title 'Giardino d’Inverno' (Winter Garden). The event, which replaced F – Light in 2022, combines light installations with reflections on climate emergency and sustainability. Artistic director Sergio Risaliti, also director of Museo Novecento, curates the program. Highlights include 'Oltre', an installation by Nico Vascellari (born 1976 in Vittorio Veneto) inside Sala d’Arme, part of his larger project 'Melma' that began in June with a show at Forte Belvedere and a performance at Salone dei Cinquecento. Other installations feature a videomapping on Ponte Vecchio by Stefano Fake & The Fake Factory, a video projection on Palazzo Vecchio by Francesco Cacchiani titled 'HELLO!' curated by Alessandra Iaolé, and light displays at Giardino Mediceo di Palazzo Medici Ricciardi. Special illuminations by Firenze Smart light up towers, city gates, and the facade of Chiesa di San Marco. Peripheral districts 2, 3, 4, and 5 are involved, along with Mercato Centrale di San Lorenzo. MUS.E organizes torchlight tours on December 8, 15, 22, and January 5, visiting Museo Stefano Bardini, Santa Maria Novella, and Palazzo Medici Ricciardi in the evening. Lights are on daily from 5:30 PM to 10 PM.
