Green Island's 18th Edition Transforms Milan's Isola District

Founded by Claudia Zanfi in 2001, Green Island marks its 18th edition during Milan Design Week 2018. Initially based in Milan's Isola district, the event has adapted alongside the area's revitalization. This year, Zanfi collaborated with Atelier del Paesaggio to design a botanical pathway emphasizing flowers, woods, and creativity. Highlights include a 'botanical room' at RivaViva, a 'creativity room' at MoMo bistrot, and a 'woods room' at Algranti Lab. Cinzia Castagna's photography presents plants as design elements, while artisans exhibit woodworking skills. A street art treasure hunt invites exploration. Notable past installations at Garibaldi Station featured Andrea Branzi (2007) and Atelier Van Lieshout (2015). Zanfi underscores the cultural significance of Green Island and promotes sustainable urban development.
