Grazyna Kulczyk Announces Museum of Contemporary Art and Performance in Warsaw for 2018 Opening
Polish millionaire and art collector Grazyna Kulczyk will construct a Museum of Contemporary Art and Performance in Warsaw, scheduled to open on 11 November 2018 to coincide with Poland's independence. The new institution will occupy 6,000 square meters of exhibition space near the Copernicus Science Centre along the Vistula river. Kulczyk's collection of Polish and international art will be housed in the museum. This Warsaw project follows her sale of Stary Bowar in Poznan, a cultural complex she founded in 2003 that combined an art gallery with over 200 retail spaces, which was sold to a German investment group for €290 million. Concurrently, Kulczyk is developing another museum near St Moritz in Switzerland, expected to open between 2016 and 2017. The Art Newspaper reported these developments on 30 November 2015.
