Grazia Toderi's Neon Question Mark Illuminates Turin's Basilica Mauriziana

festival-fair · 2026-04-27

For the 25th edition of Luci d'Artista in Turin, artist Grazia Toderi (born 1963 in Padua) has created a site-specific neon work titled "…?…" installed atop the dome of the Basilica Mauriziana above the Mercato Centrale. The universal symbol of a question mark becomes especially visible at night, inviting viewers to embrace doubt and inquiry. This marks Toderi's first participation in the festival, which lights up buildings and streets across the city with contemporary art. The work can be best viewed from the terrace of Mercato Centrale Torino until January 8, 2023. Umberto Montano, President of Mercato Centrale, emphasized the institution's role as a partner in creating value for the city through art and community gathering.
