While the majority of those embracing this trend are women in their 40s and 50s tired of frequent root touch-ups, Florian Hurel, a salon owner, notes that younger women in their 20s and 30s are also embracing this method as a form of self-expression. This technique aims to soften the contrast between colored hair and new growth, avoiding harsh lines. Swati Gupta of Bodycraft Salon highlights that gray blending involves careful color placement, often using white-toned highlights or translucent grays to add depth.
