Graphic Novel on Lucio Battisti Released by Feltrinelli Comics

Feltrinelli Comics will publish a graphic novel about Italian singer-songwriter Lucio Battisti on January 14, 2025. Titled "Lucio Battisti?! Non sono mica io!", the book is a mosaic of anecdotes compiled by author Tonio Vinci, aiming to portray the multifaceted and often mysterious artist. Vinci drew inspiration from stories shared by entertainment figures who crossed paths with Battisti, including Mario Tessuto, Pasquale Panella, Mara Maionchi, and Adriano Pappalardo. The 140-page comic reveals Battisti as an unreachable star, a devoted friend, a fan of Neapolitan song, a ping-pong player, a young orchestra musician, and a failed office worker in an elevator company. The cover keeps Battisti's face in shadow, reflecting his desire to go unnoticed. Vinci describes Battisti as ecumenical and notes that despite detailed biographies, the more he delves into his story, the less he feels he knows him. The graphic novel focuses on singular, comic, and extreme episodes that correlate with Battisti's approach to music, work, and artistic ethics.
