publication · 2026-05-05

Grant Gee's documentary 'Istanbul e il Museo dell’Innocenza di Pamuk', inspired by Orhan Pamuk's novel 'The Museum of Innocence', is now available on DVD and Blu-Ray distributed by Koch Media. The film blends documentary and fiction, following the love story of Kemal and Füsun set in 1970s Istanbul, while exploring the city's transformation and Turkish societal change. Pamuk, winner of the 2006 Nobel Prize in Literature, also created a physical museum in Istanbul in 2012, displaying objects from the novel in vitrines corresponding to each chapter. That museum received the European Museum of the Year Award. A related exhibition is currently hosted at Museo Bagatti Valsecchi in Milan. The novel has been translated into 60 languages.
