Graciela Iturbide's Major Retrospective 'Eyes to Fly With' Opens at C/O Berlin in February 2026
From February 7 to June 10, 2026, the C/O Berlin Foundation will showcase a retrospective of Graciela Iturbide's photography, named 'Eyes to Fly With.' Curated by Sophia Greiff and Melissa Harris, the exhibition will display around 250 pieces created from the late 1960s to today at the Amerika Haus galleries. Iturbide, born in Mexico City in 1942, studied film direction and collaborated with Manuel Álvarez Bravo. Her photography delves into themes such as ritual, women's experiences, and marginalization, featuring significant series like 'Juchitán de las Mujeres' and 'White Fence.' The exhibition is organized thematically and includes various print types. Notably, Iturbide's recent international exhibitions took place at Fondation Cartier (2022) and Museo de Arte Moderno (2023), marking her first major exhibition in Berlin.
