At Galerie Max Hetzler in London, there's a new exhibition called "Plaids," showcasing Grace Weaver's latest watercolor artworks. This is her sixth solo show with the gallery and her third in the London location. The collection, created in 2026 during an extended stay in Los Angeles, features both abstract and figurative styles, drawing inspiration from the patterns of checks, tartans, and plaids. Weaver describes her painting technique as akin to drawing, using smooth brushstrokes to form lines. She explains that these lines represent clusters of thoughts, capturing moments in a linear way. The bold colors in her pieces mimic the process of weaving, with layers of paint reflecting the structure of fabric.
