Goya's Drawings Take Center Stage at Prado Museum in Madrid

Curated by José Manuel Matilla and Manuela Mena, the exhibition features pieces from both the museum's collection and international loans. Goya was present during the museum's inauguration on November 19, 1819, where two of his equestrian portraits were among the initial displays. The exhibition is arranged chronologically across three preparatory series and eight albums, including "Caprichos," "Disasters of War," and "Tauromaquia." Notable items include the complete Notebook C and the Italian Notebook. It will be on view until February 16, 2020, in partnership with the Botín Foundation.
