Gorillaz to Launch Interactive Installations in Three Cities

exhibition · 2026-05-05

The virtual band Gorillaz, founded by Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett in 1998, will release their fifth album 'Humanz' on April 28, 2017. To promote the album, they are creating three interactive 'spirit houses' in Brooklyn, Berlin, and Amsterdam starting April 21. The installations are inspired by the music video for 'Saturnz Barz (Spirit House)' and feature original artwork, digital installations, and music. The Brooklyn installation runs April 21-23, Berlin April 28-30, and Amsterdam May 6-8. Access to the first two requires online reservation, while Amsterdam is first-come, first-served. The album follows six years of silence and was preceded by the single 'Halleluja Money' released in January 2017 during Donald Trump's election.
