GoPro Mission 1 Pro Review: Larger Sensor, Higher Price, Mixed Results

GoPro's new Mission 1 Pro action camera ($699) features a Type 1 sensor, offering 8K Open Gate recording, improved low-light performance, and increased dynamic range. It is heavier (207g) and larger than the Hero 13 Black, with a minimum focus distance of nearly two feet, limiting close-up shots. The camera is waterproof to 20 meters without a housing and supports 32-bit float audio. Overheating tests showed 4K/24p recording for over two hours, but 8K/30p stopped at 51 minutes. The Mission 1 Pro competes with DJI Action 5 and Insta360 Ace Pro 2, but its high price and focus limitations prevent an unconditional recommendation.
