Google Unveils Googlebooks, Vibe-Coded Widgets at Android Show
During its virtual event, 'Android Show: I/O Edition,' held on Tuesday, Google revealed several updates. This fall, Googlebooks laptops featuring Gemini AI will debut, in collaboration with Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, and Lenovo. Notable functionalities include 'Magic Pointer' and compatibility with Android applications. Additionally, 'Create My Widget' will be available this summer for Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel devices. A revamped Android Auto interface will support 60fps full HD video in vehicles from various manufacturers later this year. Gemini will facilitate hands-free inquiries and food ordering, while all 4,000 Android emojis receive enhancements. 'Screen Reactions' will be introduced on Pixel devices this summer. Furthermore, Google is working with Meta on Ultra HDR and new tools, along with a new iOS-to-Android transfer set for release this year, and expanded theft protections worldwide.
