Google unveils Gemini Omni video model and Spark agent at I/O 2026

At the Google I/O event on Tuesday, Google introduced major updates to the Gemini app, showcasing a new interface called 'Neural Expressive.' This design features lively animations, vibrant colors, updated font styles, and haptic feedback. Instead of long paragraphs, important information is now emphasized in bold at the top of responses. A new 'Daily Brief' function provides a customized overview of a user's inbox, calendar, and tasks, highlighting priorities and suggesting next steps; it launches today for Google AI subscribers in the U.S. Furthermore, Google revealed Gemini Omni, an AI video generator, and Gemini Spark, a round-the-clock personal AI assistant, set to be available for Google AI Ultra subscribers next week. Gemini currently has over 900 million users worldwide, across more than 230 countries and 70 languages, aiming to compete with ChatGPT and Claude.
