Google launches Gemini Spark AI agent in Hong Kong after lifting geofences

On Wednesday, Google introduced its AI assistant, Gemini Spark, in Hong Kong, enabling users to efficiently manage their digital tasks. This release comes after the company's decision in March to remove regional geofences for generative AI services, beginning with the Gemini chatbot, which allows Hong Kong residents to utilize Gemini without needing a VPN or external platform. Utilizing the Gemini 3.6 Flash model, Spark can summarize email conversations and organize customer feedback into charts. Initially launched in the US in May, Spark seamlessly integrates with Google Workspace tools (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Calendar), ensuring user data remains within Google's secure cloud and functions even when devices are locked or offline.
