Google launches AI-powered travel tools including itinerary planning and restaurant booking

Google has introduced seven new travel assistance features for the summer season. AI Mode in Search can create custom itineraries through its Canvas tool, available in the U.S., which automatically saves progress. Hotel price tracking now works for individual properties globally for signed-in English and Spanish users. Restaurant booking through agentic capabilities in AI Mode and Ask Maps searches multiple platforms like OpenTable and Resy, with availability in the U.S., U.K., India, Canada, and Australia. A calling feature for local stores, launched on Search last November, will soon roll out on AI Mode in the U.S. Google Translate's live translation through headphones covers 70+ languages on Android and iOS, preserving speaker tone. Ask Maps, powered by Gemini models, offers personalized recommendations with community tips from 500 million contributors in the U.S. and India. Google Wallet on Android provides live flight updates and digital ID passes at supported TSA checkpoints.
