Its eco-friendly packaging is entirely plastic-free, utilizing recycled paper, molded fiber, and bamboo, designed to minimize shipping volume. Google reports a reduction of 150 tonnes of plastic from manufacturing and logistics, alongside 50 tonnes from fiber-based shipping dividers, stemming from a 2021 pilot initiative. The environmental report indicates the device generates 44 kg of CO2 equivalent emissions over four years, with the majority (67%) attributed to consumer use. It includes a DOE Level VI adapter for enhanced energy efficiency, although the report highlights that the primary contributor to the speaker's environmental impact is its constant power draw for wake-word detection.
