Google Expands AI Content Watermarking and Verification Tools
Google is enhancing its tools for content transparency across various platforms, including Search, Gemini, Chrome, Pixel, and Cloud. Launched three years ago, SynthID incorporates signals into AI-generated materials, watermarking over 100 billion images and videos, along with 60,000 years of audio. The C2PA Content Credentials are now integrated into generative media tools, with Pixel 10 being the inaugural smartphone to offer image support, while video compatibility will soon be available for Pixel 8, 9, and 10. The Gemini app has incorporated SynthID verification, which has been utilized 50 million times worldwide, and is expanding to Search and Chrome. Collaborations include OpenAI, Kakao, and ElevenLabs, with Google also open-sourcing SynthID text watermarking and partnering with NVIDIA for AI video watermarking.
