Google Arts & Culture launches first digital platform for Italian street art

Google Arts & Culture has partnered with INWARD, the National Observatory on Urban Creativity, to launch the first digital platform dedicated to Italian street art. The platform features over 350 works by more than 50 artists, including Gio Pistone, Neve, Alberonero, and Corn79. It includes thematic exhibitions organized by genre such as abstraction, illustration, geometricism, realism, figurative, and lettering. A virtual tour of the Parco dei Murales in Naples, created by INWARD, is available via Google Street View. The project aims to document, valorize, and promote street art across Italy. Luca Borriello, director of INWARD research, stated that the platform allows digital fruition of masterpieces organized by stylistic categories, highlighting the maturity of street art. The collaboration builds on INWARD's 15 years of research in urban creativity and its partnership with the Google Cultural Institute since 2017. The platform is accessible at artsandculture.google.com.
