Google Arts & Culture launches Bauhaus Everywhere digital collection
To mark the 100th anniversary of the famous Bauhaus school, Google Arts & Culture has teamed up with the Bauhaus Foundation Dessau and six other organizations for a project called Bauhaus Everywhere. This digital archive boasts over 45 online exhibits featuring around 10,000 high-resolution items like photos, sketches, and artworks. It also offers 11 Street View images, five videos, virtual reality tours, and a Voyager experience on Google Earth. An exciting augmented reality feature lets users view unrealized Bauhaus designs through a mobile Pocket Gallery. The collection highlights Wassily Kandinsky's "Yellow-Red-Blue" (1925) with ultra-clear scans and insights into color theory. Collaborators include institutions like the Guggenheim and the Getty Research Institute.
