Gomorrah video game turns Saviano's book into interactive fiction
Italian developer 34BigThings has released a video game adaptation of Roberto Saviano's Gomorrah, but as a fictional story rather than a direct adaptation of the book or TV series. The game, titled simply Gomorrah, puts players in the role of Nina, an 18-year-old who takes over a Camorra clan after her father's murder. It alternates between visual novel-style narrative sequences illustrated by comic artist Luca Negri and management simulation segments where players assign tasks to clan members. Game designer Vittorio Mattia Bernatti stated that the game contains no real events or references to real people, aiming instead to evoke the atmosphere of mafia life while offering moral choices. The project was developed without Saviano's collaboration. Gomorrah is available on PC, Android, and iOS.
