Goldin+Senneby's Headless Project at Fondation Kadist
The exhibition 'Décapitation of Money' at Fondation Kadist in Paris (June 5 – July 25, 2010) archives the ongoing project 'Looking for Headless' by the artist duo Goldin+Senneby. Since 2006, the duo has explored authorship and artistic production through a complex web of delegations, mimicking the dematerialization of the corporate world. The project involves real and fictional emissaries who produce texts, lectures, films, and exhibition designs. The narrative revolves around Headless Ltd, an offshore company in the Bahamas, and includes a decapitated corpse. On May 23, 2010, economist Angus Cameron gave a lecture tracing the origins of the decapitation of money since the 18th century, linking it to the Eurodollar and the secret society Acéphale founded by Georges Bataille. The exhibition presents traces of the project, including the epilogue of the book as a piece of evidence.
