Golden Goose Opens HAUS Creative Hub in Marghera
Golden Goose has inaugurated HAUS, a multidisciplinary creative space in Marghera, Italy, at the same location where the sneaker brand was founded twenty years ago. The project was announced by CEO Silvio Campara during the Venice Biennale. HAUS aims to support art, craftsmanship, and culture, hosting events, pop-up experiences, and a community of 'Dreamers'. The space opened to the public on April 20–21, 2024, during HAUS Week, featuring performances, workshops, and talks. Four multidisciplinary artists participated in the inaugural events: Argentine artist Andrés Reisinger, Italian sculptor Fabio Viale, French-Italian painter Maïa Régis, and Puerto Rican singer Mia Lailani. The architecture incorporates elements referencing Japan, including a red maple and golden friezes inspired by Kyoto's Golden Pavilion, as well as bricole (white marble installations by Fabio Viale) that were set on fire during a live performance, highlighting the brand's connection to Venice and its fragility. HAUS includes an Academy, an Auditorium, an exhibition area, a Library with early brand creations, and the Manovia, a space dedicated to innovation and repair of Golden Goose products and beyond. Campara emphasized that Marghera's industrial character aligns better with the brand's spirit than traditional Venice, and that HAUS is oriented toward new generations and multidisciplinary arts. Future HAUS Weeks are planned.
