Gold Art Prize Awards Asian Diasporic Artists; Haegue Yang Leads Berlin's KW Institute; Christie's Sells DIC Collection

The Gold Art Prize has named five artists from the Asian diaspora for its 2025 awards: Morehshin Allahyari, Jacqueline Kiyomi Gork, Dan Lie, Kenneth Tam, and Stella Zhong. Each artist will receive USD 25,000 and will be included in a catalog set to be published in early 2026. Established in 2021 by Kelly Huang and Gold House, this biennial award honors contemporary art. On September 16, Haegue Yang took over as chair of Kunst-Werke Berlin, replacing Katharina Grosse. Christie's is set to auction around 80 pieces from the Kawamura Memorial DIC Museum of Art's collection in New York, valued at USD 60 million, before the museum closes on March 31, 2025. Additionally, Cheruby House in Shanghai will launch on November 8, 2024, featuring exhibitions and residencies. Ewha Womans University has received about 400 artworks by Suki Seokyeong Kang from her family.
