Godard-Sollers 1984 film reissued in DVD and cinema
Jean-Paul Fargier's 1984 film capturing the historic meeting between filmmaker Jean-Luc Godard and writer Philippe Sollers, organized by artpress, is being reissued on DVD by a.p.r.e.s éditions and screened in Paris. The 75-minute documentary will show at Cinéma Saint-André des arts from April 10 to 22, 2019, with additional screenings on April 30 and May 7. Each screening is followed by a discussion with guests including David Faroult, Gilles Coudert, Alain Bergala, Danielle Jaeggi, Yannick Haenel, Jean-Paul Fargier, Lionel Dax, Raymond Bellour, Raphaël Sorin, Philippe de Vita, Guy Scarpetta, and Dominique Païni. The DVD release coincides with the publication of the interview in volume 7 of artpress's Grands entretiens series dedicated to Godard. The film was coproduced by Fédération nationale Léo Lagrange and Vidéo Montages, with support from artpress and Maison de la culture André Malraux de Reims.
