gmp Designs Qingdao Science & Technology Museum on Hong Island
The Qingdao Science & Technology Museum has officially opened on Hong Island, spanning 40,000 square meters. Designed by von Gerkan, Marg and Partners (gmp), this new facility aims to enhance urban development while emphasizing marine research and reinforcing Qingdao's role as a hub for marine science in China. Key figures in the project include architects Clemens Kampermann and Lan Chen, with oversight by China Li Ling. The design team comprised several professionals, including nna von Aulock and Andreas Götze.
