GM and Cadillac Design Cast-Bronze Trophy for 2026 PGA Championship

architecture-design · 2026-04-29

General Motors' industrial design team and Cadillac have created a cast-bronze trophy for the inaugural 2026 Cadillac Championship golf tournament, held at Trump National Doral in Miami. The trophy, approximately 20 inches high and 6.5 inches wide, abstractly represents a golfer mid-swing, with negative space forming a driver head and vertical curves echoing Cadillac vehicle body sides. Developed using foam-core mock-ups and 3D printing, the final piece was cast using lost-wax technique and anodized with two automotive body paints. Creative designer Peter Durak noted it communicates the gesture of the swing and Cadillac's twisted form language. Lead designer Simon Wells described it as a sculpture in the round, with light reflecting differently from every angle. Senior designer Alexandra Dymowska highlighted the connection to golf equipment fabrication and Cadillac's dynamic tension. The trophy will be awarded this weekend. Separately, a 15-foot gold statue of President Donald Trump on the property has drawn comment.
