GlycemicGPT: Open-Source AI Platform for Diabetes Management

GlycemicGPT is a self-hosted, open-source platform that connects continuous glucose monitors (Dexcom G7), insulin pumps (Tandem t:slim X2 and Mobi via BLE), and Nightscout instances to an AI analysis layer running on local infrastructure. Created by a Type 1 diabetic software engineer who went months without clinician review, the tool provides daily briefs summarizing overnight and 24-hour patterns, meal response analysis, conversational chat with RAG-backed clinical knowledge, and predictive alerting with configurable thresholds and caregiver escalation. GlycemicGPT does not deliver insulin, control pumps, or function as a closed-loop system—it only reads data and provides insights. The project is available on GitHub.
