Glorya Kaufman's Beverly Hills Estate Chateau de Liberté Lists for $25M

Chateau de Liberté, the Beverly Hills estate of the late philanthropist Glorya Kaufman, has hit the market for $25 million. Kaufman, who passed away at 95 in August 2025, was a significant supporter of the performing arts in Los Angeles. In 2009, she made a historic $20 million donation to the Music Center, the largest individual contribution to L.A. dance, and established the USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance in 2012, which launched its International Dance Center in 2015. The home, designed by Richard Landry and constructed by John Finton in the late 1980s, was acquired by Kaufman in 2012 for $18.2 million. Spanning about 5,900 square feet, it features luxurious amenities and is set on nearly an acre of landscaped grounds. Rachelle Rosten and Kelly deLaat of Douglas Elliman are managing the listing, with proceeds benefiting the Glorya Kaufman Foundation. Julia M. Ritter, dean of USC Kaufman, commended Kaufman's impactful vision and generosity.
