Global Exhibitions Explore Identity, Education, and Colonial Legacies
The MAIIAM Contemporary Art Museum in Chiang Mai is showcasing ERRATA: Collecting Entanglements and Embodied Histories until November 1, 2021, with contributions from 38 artists, including Bruce Nauman and Sutthirat Supaparinya. Curated by Gridthiya Gaweewong alongside Anna-Catharina Gebbers, Grace Samboh, and June Yap, the exhibition delves into disputed narratives from the crypto-colonial and Cold War eras. Meanwhile, at the Yamaguchi Center for Arts and Media, Serrum's KURIKULAB: Moving Class runs from October 30, 2021, to February 27, 2022. In San Francisco, Maia Cruz Palileo's pieces at CCA Wattis Institute for Contemporary Arts, on view until December 4, focus on Filipino migration and colonial past. Ashfika Rahman's works, highlighting Bangladesh's Santal and Dalit communities, mark her European debut at Vitrine Basel through January 9. Additionally, Ju Ting's exhibition at Galerie Urs Meile in Lucerne features new works until October 29.
