Glitch exhibition at PAC Milan explores Italian art cinema with 64 films and installations
The PAC in Milan is currently hosting the exhibition 'Glitch: Interferences Between Art and Cinema,' showcasing the creations of approximately 50 Italian artists since the year 2000. Curated by Davide Giannella, the exhibit aims to chart the landscape of 'art cinema.' It is divided into two parts: one featuring 64 films and videos across three rooms on the ground floor, while the other displays silent installations, sculptures, and photographs. Special screenings highlight new pieces by artists such as Rä di Martino and Luca Trevisani. Key installations include Rosa Barba's 'filmic sculptures,' Virgilio Villoresi's 'Click, Clack' (2014), and 'Mastequoia op. 09–13' (2009–13). A documentary room allows for on-demand viewing, with featured films like Alterazioni Video's 'Ambaradan' (2014) and Anna Franceschini's 'Before They Break, Before They Die, They Fly!' (2014). This article appeared in the January & February 2015 issue of ArtReview.
