Glasstire Announces Second Annual Texas Art Writing Awards Winners

Glasstire has awarded Colette Copeland and Bill Davenport the second annual Texas Art Writing Awards. Copeland, a Granbury-based writer, artist, and educator, received the 2025 award for writing on Glasstire, recognized for her coverage of alternative art spaces, performance, and women artists in Texas. She has contributed since 2011 and published nine articles in 2025. Davenport, a Houston-based writer and artist, received the lifetime achievement award for exceptional writing and impact on the publication and Texas art scene. He was Glasstire's first contributor in 2001 and served as Editor-in-Chief from 2013 to 2015. The awards were presented at Glasstire's 25th Anniversary Party on May 8, honoring founding publisher Rainey Knudson. Glasstire founded the awards in 2024 to highlight art writers in Texas.
