On April 4, Glasgow International kicks off under the leadership of director Sarah McCrory. Welsh artist Bedwyr Williams will turn Tramway into a dark forest diorama populated by dystopian hoarders. The festival also showcases Scottish designer Christopher Kane, who is an advocate for the 'Better Together' campaign. Meanwhile, in London, Large Glass on Caledonian Road is hosting 'Edge of the Seat: The Artist's Chair,' a group exhibition featuring works by Dorothy Cross and Richard Wentworth, with a press release from writer Ali Smith. South London Gallery will present 'Welcome to Iraq,' a recreation of the Iraq Pavilion from the 2013 Venice Biennial, curated by Jonathan Watkins, who journeyed through Iraq in an armored vehicle. Additionally, FUEL publishing has released 'Soviets: Drawings by Danzig Baldaev, Photographs by Sergei Vasiliev,' showcasing secret satirical drawings of Soviet life from the 1950s until the USSR's dissolution, while also touching on discussions of Scottish independence and Russian President Vladimir Putin's actions in Ukraine.
