Glasgow International and ArtReview Launch Writer Residency for BIPOC Writers

festival-fair · 2026-04-20

Glasgow International and ArtReview have partnered to create a Writer in Residence position aimed at Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour writers. The residency offers a £1000 stipend covering travel expenses and runs for three days during the festival's first week from June 11 to 27. Selected writers will gain access to exhibitions and artists, with editorial support from ArtReview and the Glasgow International team. An article produced during the residency will be published on ArtReview's platforms and shared by Glasgow International. Applications require a cover note and a review example, due by May 28, 2021, sent to info@glasgowinternational.org. The editor at ArtReview and Glasgow International's curatorial team will review submissions, announcing the chosen writer on June 8. This initiative aligns with Glasgow International's anti-racism commitment, fostering diverse perspectives on the festival.
