Gladstone to Represent Estate of Self-Taught Czech Artist Anna Zemánková
Gladstone Gallery has announced representation of The Estate of Anna Zemánková, a self-taught Czech artist known for her abstract botanical drawings. The gallery will present a solo booth at TEFAF New York from May 14-19, 2026, following a spring 2025 exhibition in New York. Zemánková, born in Moravia, began painting in the late 1950s after her sons discovered her early works. Her art, rooted in subconscious automatism, features biomorphic flowers and organic forms. She has been exhibited at the Venice Biennale (2013, 2024), Hayward Gallery (1980), and São Paulo Art Biennial (1981). Her work is in collections including Centre Pompidou, Museum of Fine Arts Boston, and American Folk Art Museum. Gladstone represents the estate in collaboration with Cavin-Morris Gallery.
