Giuseppe Uncini Returns to Spazio PAePA in Milan with Solo Exhibition

exhibition · 2026-04-26

On December 4, 2024, Spazio PAePA in Milan opened a solo exhibition of Italian sculptor Giuseppe Uncini (1929–2008), titled Solo quello che vedi – Opere autosignificanti. The show runs until February 10, 2025, and is organized in collaboration with the Archivio Uncini. It features works from the private collection of founders Giuliano and Nunzia Papalini and from Dep Art Gallery, Milan. The exhibition traces Uncini's career through series such as Muri d'ombra, Dimore, Architetture, and Spaziocemento, highlighting his use of iron and concrete. Spazio PAePA was established in 2012 by the Papalinis as a non-commercial space to display their collection. Uncini also inaugurated the space in September 2012 with Pensare con le mani, which presented maquettes and mixed-media works. The Papalinis' collection began with gallerist Stefano Fumagalli and has grown through international galleries like P420 in Bologna. In spring 2025, the space will dedicate an exhibition to Gianfranco Pardi, a close friend of Giuliano Papalini.
