Giuseppe Terragni's War Photography and Final Projects in Rome Exhibition

exhibition · 2026-04-27

A new exhibition at Rome's Faculty of Architecture in Valle Giulia commemorates the 100th anniversary of the faculty and the later years of architect Giuseppe Terragni. Drawing from Valerio Paolo Mosco's book "Giuseppe Terragni: la guerra, la fine," the exhibit showcases previously unseen photographs taken by Terragni during World War II. Following a mental breakdown in January 1943, he was repatriated and passed away from a stroke in July of the same year at the age of 39. The display features projections of his final designs, including the unrealized Danteum and a cathedral influenced by Piero della Francesca. Curated by Attilio Terragni and Valerio Paolo Mosco, it emphasizes Terragni's lyrical abstraction and notable works such as Casa del Fascio and Novocomum.
