Giuseppe Stampone's 'La natura delle cose' Celebrates Abruzzo's Mountains
Giuseppe Stampone (born Cluses, 1974) presents 'La natura delle cose' at Museolaboratorio – Ex manifattura Tabacchi in Città Sant'Angelo, Pescara province. The exhibition marks his return to Abruzzo after experiences in New York, Rome, and Brussels, following the deaths of his parents. Inspired by Lucretius's poem, the show features around sixty works including black-and-white photographs and blue pen drawings of the Gran Sasso and Maiella mountains, as well as local animals. A central wooden mobile station functions as an archive for future generations. The video 'Gran Sassa' features performer Maria Crispal moving through the landscape. The project won the PAC2021 – Piano per l'Arte Contemporanea from the Direzione Generale Creatività Contemporanea of the Ministero della Cultura. Stampone plans to open a foundation for artist residencies in the Gran Sasso area.
