Giuseppe Capotondi’s The Burnt Orange Heresy Features Italian Artists’ Works

The Burnt Orange Heresy, directed by Giuseppe Capotondi and inspired by Charles Willeford's novel, debuted at the 75th Venice Film Festival. This neo-noir narrative, centered on art theft and deception, shifts its locale from Florida to Lombardy, encompassing Milan and Lake Como. Among the featured Italian artists is Air Daryal, whose significant works, including White Angel, Heart of Ice, and Attica, were showcased in a villa on Lake Como, where Mick Jagger portrays the art collector Cassidy. The film delves into the complexities of truth, lies, and ambition within the art scene. Daryal's participation followed her solo exhibition at MAC Milano, curated by Angelo Crespi, with her pieces chosen by set designer Totoi Santoro. She attended the world premiere on September 7, 2019, at the 76th Venice Biennale Cinema, where her artworks were highlighted for over four minutes.
