Giulio Bensasson's 'Losing Control' at Pastificio Cerere, Rome

exhibition · 2026-04-27

Giulio Bensasson (born Rome, 1990) presents his first solo exhibition, 'Losing Control,' at the historic Pastificio Cerere in Rome's San Lorenzo district. The show explores the human obsession with control versus the natural flow of events, unfolding across two levels. In the basement Spazio Molini, three sculptural volumes made of handmade white tiles contrast with the decaying environment, accompanied by a sound piece created with Filippo Lilli and a deliberately placed fly that disrupts the pseudo-perfection. Upstairs in the white cube, time takes center stage through works from the ongoing series 'Non so dove, non so quando' (2016), where recovered and numbered films are overtaken by fungi and mold, generating new abstract landscapes. The exhibition includes photographs, lightboxes, and vintage viewers.
