Giulio Alvigini's 'Volevo fare una mostra' at Spazio Amato

Giulio Alvigini, an artist and influencer known for his social media brand Make Italian Art Great Again, presents his first solo exhibition 'Volevo fare una mostra' at Spazio Amato in Milan. The show runs from February 16 to March 5, 2022, in a former anti-aircraft bunker near Fondazione Prada, previously used as a studio by artist Massimo Uberti and later by Giorgio Bernasconi for emerging projects. Alvigini, born in 1995 in Tortona, uses sarcasm and memes as his signature style, referencing Donald Trump's 2016 campaign slogan. The artist met Spazio Amato's founders at Biennolo Milano in October 2021, leading to this exhibition after Giorgio Bernasconi's solo show 'Possibilité Trouvè.' Alvigini acknowledges that printing memes for a physical show involves a loss of their digital essence but invites viewers not to compare his social media persona with the exhibition.
