Giulio Alvigini's Mytribune filter lets anyone design an Artribune cover

Italian artist Giulio Alvigini created Mytribune, an Instagram filter for Artribune's tenth anniversary that allows users to generate their own magazine cover from ten templates, one per year. Alvigini, born in Tortona in 1995 and based between Turin and Milan, is an artist and communication expert who runs the page "Make Italian Art Great Again." He describes his approach as simulating roles and embracing contradictions, treating the filter as a promotional tool rather than an artistic statement. Alvigini previously made filters like "Which art world character are you?" and the official filter for Make Italian Art Great Again. He views filters as engagement tools but acknowledges the exploitative dynamics of platform capitalism. His practice involves instrumental use of online culture and memes for self-marketing, with performativity centered on career as content. Upcoming projects include a second book titled "Contro la Comunicazione dell'arte," a pilot episode of "Una pezza di Alvigini," a music hit for the art world, and a solo exhibition.
