Giulio Alvigini Launches Art-Themed Board Game 'Il giro del mondo dell'arte'

publication · 2026-04-27

Artist Giulio Alvigini, in collaboration with Bonobolabo (Marco Miccoli), has created 'Il giro del mondo dell'arte', a board game simulating the ups and downs of an emerging artist's career. The game, inspired by the classic Game of the Goose, was first presented at The Other Art Fair in Turin and arrives at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni bookshop in Rome on November 9. The project originated from an invitation by curators at (un)fair in Milan to create a monumental version for the event, which then evolved into a commercial artist's board game. Alvigini worked with illustrator Daris Nardini on the visual design. The game features a 'market' square that sends players back to the start, a deliberate commentary on the art market's challenges. Future stops include C+N Gallery Canepaneri in Milan on December 12 and Palazzo Strozzi in Florence on January 18. Alvigini is also known for his Instagram page 'Make Italian Art Great Again' and previous game 'Cards Against Contemporary Art Italia'.
