Giulianova's Pinacoteca Civica reopens after 15 years with Posillipo school collection
After 15 years of closure, the Pinacoteca Civica di Giulianova in Teramo province has reopened, displaying around 450 works without labels or plaques. The exhibition prioritizes visual dialogue over textual identification. The collection was donated by jurist and historian Vincenzo Bindi (1852-1928), who lost all three children. Housed in Palazzo Bindi on Corso Garibaldi, the gallery complements the adjacent house-museum. The collection includes hundreds of late-18th-century paintings by artists of the Posillipo school, a Neapolitan movement known for vedutismo and realistic figuration. Featured artists include G. Gigante, T. Duclère, E. dal Bono, the Carelli family, Palizzi, T. Patini, R. Pagliaccetti, C. Barbella, G. Della Monica, P. Celommi, and S. von Pitloo. The museum also displays period furnishings, Savona maiolica, Castelli ceramics, Capodimonte porcelain, and domestic textiles. The original opening was in 1975.
