Giuliana Rosso's Dreamlike Exhibition at La Casaforte S.B. in Naples

exhibition · 2026-05-04

The curatorial duo Bite the Saurus, composed of Vincenzo Di Marino and Dalia Maini, presents their third project in Naples: an exhibition resulting from the residency of Giuliana Rosso (born 1992 in Turin) at the nonprofit space La Casaforte S.B., located in the heart of the Quartieri Spagnoli. Titled "A Creepy and Holy Jingle (Un Timoroso e Sacro Tintinnio)", the show focuses on art as a representation of dreamlike scenes and imaginary worlds, making incursions into popular culture by resurrecting esoteric figures such as Janara and Munaciello. Dreams and fantasy, translated into paintings with dark Nordic hues and sculptures of rough and grotesque craftsmanship, raise a concreteness that anchors thought to reality. The contemplative atmosphere and escape from reality, moving from the grotesque to the surreal, become an act of resistance against a contemporary world that sees the other as a monstrous entity and capitalist economy as the only possibility for development.
